Allyssa Kauffman
Average rating:4.9Number of reviews:(201)
Immersed in the Spanish language, students will build their speaking, listening, and comprehension skills while making homemade pizzas with a variety of toppings.

Class experience

- Build Spanish vocabulary related to food and cooking
- Practice conversational speaking skills
- Improve listening and comprehension skills
Cooking: I have been cooking and baking since I was a kid. I have also worked as a cook in an industrial kitchen at a large summer camp, feeding 300+ kids every day for multiple summers.
Spanish: I hold a degree in Education with a concentration in Spanish. I am a fluent speaker, having learned Spanish in school, college, and while living in Bolivia. My husband is Bolivian, so I speak Spanish at least 90% of my day.

Kitchen Equipment:
- Cookie sheet, baking tray, or pizza stone
- Rolling pin
- Knife
- Oven
- 1 medium mixing bowl
- Several small bowls for holding ingredients
- Measuring spoons and cups
- Oven mitts

- 1 1/4 cups flour + a little more for kneading and rolling
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon vegetable or olive oil
- Tomatoes or store-bought pizza sauce
- Italian seasoning mix or fresh herbs and spices (garlic powder, oregano, rosemary, thyme, basil, etc.)
