Having served as a K-5 teaching librarian for over a decade I’ve helped thousands of students find exciting books to read and explore.
Students are not expected to come to the meeting with a copy of the week's highlighted book. By all means, if you want to show up to class with a copy that's fine but certainly not needed. Of course, if your student gets inspired by the book preview (isn't that the goal?), you'll probably want to find a copy while their interests are still piqued!
