***FIRST CLASS WITH MISS LINDSAY?? Use code ERNSTWINTER0510 for $5 OFF any of my classes!! Welcome to my classroom! I love teaching children how to read and can't wait to meet your learner! This is a one-time 30 minute(can be made on-going while booking), structured, explicit phonics class, using the Science of Reading methodology. This class is specifically for those in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade. This class can be a starting point(short vowels) for your little ones learning to read, or help with any reading intervention. The first class is a literacy assessment to be able to place them in the correct level, as well as, find any gaps. I have extensive experience working with neuro-divergent students(ADHD, anxiety, dyslexic). This private class will focus on these areas: Sight words(IF struggling/not at grade level) Phonograms(sounds) Phonological Awareness Word Building(using tiles) Decoding and sentence reading(fluency) Sound analysis Reading(word lists, sentences, passages) Sound Dictation Pre-spelling Spelling dictation Sentence dictation The class is taught in a fun and encouraging environment. This encourages and promotes discussions, active listening skills, building and expanding their vocabulary, and enhancing their comprehension and memory. A positive, helpful, and encouraging environment will help your learner thrive on their reading journey. I have been teaching students to read for 20 years using science of reading based curriculum that uses explicit, systemic phonics to help children quickly flourish in their reading journey(UFLI and S.P.I.R.E.). Let’s have some fun and reach your reading goals together!!! ***This is NOT a homework class. This class is structured to start at the first reading gap your child is assessed with needing assistance and moving up in reading skills from there.
Learning Goals
Learners will engage in fun lessons to quickly progress their reading skills.
