Roar! Dinosaur Math: Sorting, Patterns, Counting, and Adding (4-6)

Join Miss Jen and some new friends as we have fun with dinosaurs and learn math concepts.  In this one time class, learners will identify patterns, sort, count, and do simple adding activities.  First learners will learn the 10 little dinosaurs song.  I will then read-loud the interactive book Scholastic Slide and Find Dinosaur.  Then learners will count dinosaurs in a variety of different ways. They will match the number, number word and count the correct amount of dinosaurs.  We will then add the amount of dinosaurs that we see in different settings.  Learners will then be introduced to my friend the Stegosaurus.  My Stegosaurus does not have any scales! Oh no! Will you help Miss Jen find scales for my Stegosaurus?  In this activity students will identify different shapes and make different patterns on the back of the Stegosaurus.  They will also have the opportunity to make their own patterns and present them to the class.  We will finish the class by singing our 10 little Dinosaurs Song again.
