In this one-time course, learners will use recycled materials that they have gathered to explore the possibilities of making a trash detecting robot to use on walks in their own neighborhoods.
Class experience
Prior to the start of class, students will have to collect materials to build their robot. Ideas include, but are not limited to: cut out barcodes, plastic spoons, cardboard, tin foil, milk cartons. At the beginning of class, we will sort our recycled materials into categories and discuss their differences.
