Rapunzel will be told in German by Frau Goss, a teacher with 35 years of language teaching experience, understood through pictures, gesturing and explanation in English or any other needed language (if I speak it). Topics derived from the story will include --Learning to give and get simple, individualized information in German. -Learning basic imperatives and responding to them accordingly. -Learning basic parts of the body. -Learning the colors and basic anatomy of the animals in the story in German by drawing and coloring them. -Learning German numbers taught and practiced by repetition, counting, answering questions, and by doing very simple math. - Learning clothing vocabulary. -Learning the German alphabet which we will practice by connecting them to words from the story. Each session begins with greeting each other in German and learning the letters of the day. We then recite our pronoun verse. The story of the Rapunzel comes next, and then we will participate in an activity meant to entertain and anchor language learned in the story. We will recap what we talked about and then recite our goodbye verse. Week 1 features the first part of the story using pictures to introduce the characters and then participate in an activity using opposites and introducing numbers 1-10. Week 2. features a continuation of the story and then a rhyme and activity to learn clothing vocabulary and numbers 11-20. Week 3 features Story Time and learning the names of musical instruments and a song and then numbers 20-100. Week 4 features Story Time and then animals and the sounds they make then ANIMAL BINGO and very basic animal anatomy. Week 5 features Story Time and discussing 'Lieblingstiere' and the song, 'Kopf, Ohren, Nase, Schwanz'. Week 6 Games, Games, Games As in all of my classes, there will be almost constant interaction between learners and me. Learners will also interact with each other. While this class will certainly be fun for people with a little background in German, experience with the German language is not be necessary. My teaching style is supportive, informal, multisensory, cooperative and learner centered. The class will progress as fast or as slowly as learners need.

Beginners to the most advanced learners have enjoyed my teaching and the control they haveI had over the content. I have been doing this for 30+ years for people in this country and abroad.
I strongly believe in JOY. I find that the more fun the activity, the more we want to learn. I include art, music, movement and specialty subjects to achieve this end.
