Description
Class Experience
This class will introduce/review the 6 syllable types that we teach students when learning how to read words with two or more syllables using Orton Gillingham strategies and Pokémon cards and character names. This class is especially great for students with Dyslexia and Dysgraphia. The students will learn a mnemonic to remember the 6 syllable types. There will be key phrases, visuals, tactile, and auditory ways to learn. A typical lesson will go as follows: Show the syllable with a picture...
The students will be able to decode and spell multi-syllabic words in isolation and in text and become more fluent readers and spellers.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
