Class Experience
Art history can be more than memorization! This class offers an engaging and creative approach to learning about art history. I aim to inspire young artists to explore different approaches to their art-making while simultaneously learning about very influential art movements. We will have an introductory lecture and class discussion about Cubism. During this time, students will learn about influential artists in Cubism and the stylistic approaches they used that set them apart from all...
Students will be able to understand the stylistic approaches of Cubist artists such as Picasso. Students will be able to synthesize their knowledge about multiple perspectives, collage, and abstraction through the creation of an art piece. Students will strengthen soft skills such as focus, creativity, problem-solving, and self-expression.
I have a B.F.A in Studio Arts from the University of Central Florida. I am a professional exhibiting artist who focuses on installation and performance but I have been making art since I was a child! I love exploring materials and having fun while creating. Teaching art is one of my passions because I love to foster creativity, self-confidence, and curiosity.
There is no official homework for this class. However, if a student wishes to keep working and adding more details to their piece, this is highly encouraged. Once their piece is finished they are welcome to send me a photo if they wish to have any further feedback.
