Learn about China while learning to play some piano pieces! If you are a young beginner in early elementary level or primer level piano, this is the right level. Faber Piano Adventures, Thompson or most other piano methods are similar.
Class experience
This is a guided class through the Piano Adventures Music from China Primer book, you will learn to play music from China adapted to the piano and made just for your level! The first week, we use the Primer Level Piano from China book and take a picture tour of China! We also will learn the all black-key scale on which many Chinese pieces are based. I attended the Eastman School of Music and Florida State University, studying with two concert pianists and two jazz pianists. I have been teaching for many years. I have been an accompanist and working musician for most of my life. I also teach piano, composition, small group ensemble coaching, how to read music for singers, and some Japanese basics!

We will try to learn the piano pieces, so it will help to practice after classes, but I understand that this is summer!Assessments Offered
