Class experience
This class is an introductory and fun exploration into an advanced math concept. Students do *not* need any prior exposure to the concept of Pi before taking the course. This is an opportunity to learn something completely new for fun, so that later in their math experience, they will be familiar and comfortable with the topic. We will start by learning the history of the mathematic symbol of Pi, as well as when and why it is used in mathematics. We will then explore the infinite-value...
Students will learn the history, value, and properties of Pi. Students will creatively express their new knowledge in a keepsake art project.
3 files available upon enrollmentThree handouts will be emailed upon registration. These will need to be printed prior to class. Additionally, students will need: An 8x11 white sheet of paper (cardstock or computer paper will be fine) Black marker Scissors Glue Markers, colored pencils, or watercolors/paint brush - whichever they prefer for making their sunset background Star stickers (optional)
