In this one- time class, aspiring artists will use chalk pastels to create a modernist portrait and learn about Pablo Picasso’s cubist period.
Class experience
In this one - time class, aspiring artists will use chalk pastels to create a modernist portrait and learn about Pablo Picasso’s cubist period.
I will provide learners with a presentation about the artist and his work, followed by a step-by-step guided drawing demonstration, with an example of the finished project as reference. Students will work independently, (with teacher guidance) and encouraged to create art that reflects their personal style.
My teaching style...Students will be introduced to the life and artwork of Pablo Picasso, gain a greater understanding of the cubist art movement, as well the elements of composition in art.
1) Pastel paper (any brand will do) large scale preferred, such as 18 x 24, but any size above 9 x 12 will work. 2) Non toxic soft pastels
