This course is for students who have taken my previous "Let's speak Japanese!" and “Let’s speak MORE Japanese!” In addition to all the materials covered in the previous courses, we will cover topics: more adjectives, more verbs in different tenses, counting systems, inviting people, asking for directions, etc. Students will practice speaking and listening through modeling/repeating after the instructor and various group activities such as role-playing, fill-in-the-blanks, and working with...

I am a certified school teacher. For the past 15 years, I have been teaching music and choir. I teach Japanese Language and Culture during the short Winter term. I was born and raised in Japan, and I love to share my experience and knowledge with you.
I strongly suggest that students make flashcards of all the vocabulary they learn in this course.
You will need a pencil and paper. I strongly suggest that you make flashcards to memorize vocabulary. Please print out a booklet I will send you prior to the beginning of this course.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be evaluated formatively based on their class participation.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Class might use a short video clip - 5 to 8 minutes - from https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/tv/japanologyplus/. Intent is to show the culture in action.
