This level 3 course is for the students who previously took two introductory courses “Let's speak Japanese!” and “Let’s speak MORE Japanese!” Students will venture out furthermore in the language with more vocabulary and expression.

Class Experience

*Gaining more vocabulary.
*Expressing what they like with various adjectives.
*Learning different counting systems.
*Learning more verbs and adjectives to form various sentences.
*Expressing their feelings.
*Learning various expressions to use in more practical situations - asking for directions, going to the doctors, etc.
*Describing how their day went.
*Forming various words in Hiragana.
I am a certified school teacher.  For the past 15 years, I have been teaching music and choir.  I teach Japanese Language and Culture during the short Winter term.  I was born and raised in Japan, and I love to share my experience and knowledge with you. 
I strongly suggest that students make flashcards of all the vocabulary they learn in this course.
You will need a pencil and paper. I strongly suggest that you make flashcards to memorize vocabulary. Please print out a booklet I will send you prior to the beginning of this course.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be evaluated formatively based on their class participation.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Class might use a short video clip - 5 to 8 minutes - from  Intent is to show the culture in action.
