Class experience

US Grade 4 - 7
I have been a lifelong student and friend of world-famous Pomo/Miwuk weaver, Dr. Julia Parker, who began teaching me basketry in about 1980. I weave baskets as she taught me to do in a completely traditional way, using wildcrafted materials that I gather myself each year, so I have first-hand intimate knowledge of this complex and ancient skill and art form. I have also demonstrated traditional basketmaking for the public at museums and state parks for the past 30 years, and act as liaison between several regional tribes and the local county History Center, of which I am the current President of the Board.

"The Fine Art of California Indian Basketry" by Brian Bibby
"Weaving a California Tradition" by Linda Yamane and Dugan Aguilar
"Pomo Basketmaking" by Elsie Allen
