Students will learn about how to better use the camera in their phone.  
We'll talk about the basics of light and composition.
I'll share free apps for editing and we'll look at different editing techniques.   
Students will learn to pay attention to their surroundings in order to capture the shot they want. 

I completed my BFA with a secondary focus in photography back before there were cameras in our phones.  For awhile I couldn't understand why anyone would want a camera on their phone, but as technology progressed I began to prefer taking photos with my phone instead of the camera.  Over the last 6 months I did an NFT project called The Daily Good on objkt.com.  For 109 days, every single day I took a photo with my phone and uploaded it to objkt.com with a reflection on "what's going good?"  After that I continued taking and uploading a new photo Monday - Friday until I had completed 6 months.  During that time my mobile photography skills have skyrocketed and I love what I am able to create with just a phone. 

Homework Offered
Each week learners will be given a theme for their photography.  Throughout the week they will spend time taking/editing photos to share with the class during the following session.  They can upload their photos in the Outschool classroom before class and I will share everyone's photos on my screen during class.
