In this week-long camp, we will meet 5 days to create 7 mermaid themed items.

Class experience

 7 files available upon enrollment
Please have the coloring sheets printed & crayons/markers on standby. If we finish any projects early, we will work on these. A cookie sheet placed below projects makes clean up easier. Monday: 1. Mixed Media Mermaid Collage Supply List: Mermaid file printed on cardstock Mermaid template printed on cardstock Liquid school glue Gold glitter for body 12 small Pom poms cut in half by an adult Sequins for hair Sequins or Pom poms could be substituted by buttons Watercolor Paint Paintbrush Cup of Water Paper Towel Optional Glitter for water Tuesday: 2. Mermaid hair barrette and 3. Mermaid pendant Hair barrette SUPPLY LIST: Seashell 3 colors of acrylic paint Paint brushes Glitter Pearl Beads Clear drying school glue Hair barrette to fit seashell (parents will need to hot glue/ super glue on hair clip) Necklace supply list: Play doh Seashell Crayons Glitter Yarn Glue Pencil Wednesday: 4. Mermaid slime and 5. Mermaid sensory jar Slime supplies: School Glue (clear preferred) Baking soda Contact solution containing boric acid blue & green glitter Container to put made slime into Sensory jar supplies: Jar & lid Clear glue Distilled water to prevent mold (normal water can be used) Glitter Mermaid figurine (optional) Thursday: 6. Mermaid wand (1 hour project) Supply List: Wand Template cut out of card stock Watercolor paints and paintbrush Cup of water Paper towel Scissors Hair dryer (paint must be dried to prevent tearing before we can make the wand) Pencil Polyester batting or cotton balls Wood for wand stick Ribbons Tape Stapler Glue Glitter A cookie sheet makes clean up easy Friday: 7. Mermaid tail painting Mermaid foil template printed Supply List: Heavy Duty aluminum foil cut to letter paper size Pencil Acrylic/Tempera Paint Paint brushes Cup of water
Students will need help with the glue gun for the hair barrette. Younger students may need help tying yard for the necklace. Children may need assistance using the stapler on the wand. Students may need help hair drying their painted piece for the wand before assembling it.
