12 in-class hoursClass Experience
This 16 week class will cover the major topics for 7th grade math semester 2. Semester 1 was taught last semester but is not a requirement for this class. The first two classes will be a review where they can become aware of the material from last semester if they don't know it. My class structure will be to introduce 7th grade math semester 2 main content through instruction, teacher guided examples, and give the students time to practice with teacher guided correction if needed. I will pause for questions periodically throughout the class. The only prior knowledge will be basic mental math operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. If the student cannot do this, they will need a calculator and need to know how to compute basic calculations on it. Occasionally I will attach a homework sheet for extra practice or a sheet to use during class- this is completely optional. As well, I will give an answer key for the optional homework for parents to check and correct student work. This will not be turned in or graded, this is optional and only for the student to have extra practice. Week 1- Review Topics from Semester 1 Week 2- Continue Reviewing Topics from Semester 1 Week 3- Geometry- 3D/2D shapes, Area Week 4- Geometry- Area/Circumference Week 5-Geometry- Surface Area Week 6- Geometry- Scale Drawings and Angles Week 7- Geometry- Measurements- Rulers/Protractor Week 8- Geometry- Cross Sections Week 9- Probability and Statistics- Graphs Week 10-Probability and Statistics- Graphs Week 11- Probability and Statistics- Random Sampling Week 12- Probability and Statistics- Graphical Representations of Data Distributions Week 13- Probability and Statistics- Mean, Median, Mode, Range Week 14- Probability and Statistics- Interquartile Range Week 15- Review- Part 1 Week 16- Review Part 2 Depending on student abilities, we may not stay on course exactly each week, but all topics will be covered. I move through my class as I feel students understand the material.

Other Details
Supply List
A calculator, ruler, and protractor are required. I will provide some electric resources that may be printed if you don't have a physical ruler or protractor. An online or cell phone calculator is fine. Paper and pencil or whiteboard and marker would be nice to work out problems.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, I have taught for 15 years. I have a diverse teaching history. I have taught elementary, middle and high school. I have taught regular, special and gifted education. I have taught math, English, social studies, family and consumer science (cooking, sewing, child development, and personal finance), special education and gifted education. Through Outschool, I plan to teach middle school math. I believe that every student is able to and wants to learn, but they need to appropriate resources to be successful. I love to travel and enjoying sitting at the beach. Maybe someday I'll teach class from the beach!
