During our tutoring session learners will work toward mastering math concepts according to their current level of study by reviewing them in a math game. These private (1-on-1) math game tutoring sessions can be scheduled for the following ages and levels of study: 🔶 Ages - 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 🔶 Levels - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th Math concepts of study may include the following: 🔷 Numbers (place value, rounding, greater than, less than, etc.) 🔷 Addition 🔷 Subtraction 🔷 Multiplication 🔷 Division 🔷 Fractions 🔷 Time 🔷 Money 🔷 Measures 🔷 Pre-Algebra 🔷 Integers & Absolute Value 🔷 Percentages 🔷 Ratios & Proportions I have purposely excluded graphing and geometry because they both stress me out and I want your learners to actually succeed in mastering those two skills. 😄 Comprehending mathematics may not come naturally to every student, but it should, at least, be fun and engaging! When students can’t see how math problems will be relevant to them in life they become less motivated to actually learn the concepts and instead memorize enough just to get a passing grade. 🎯 As an educator my goal is to help students find new and innovative ways to actually enjoy what they are learning in the classroom and retain the mathematical concepts. Math is a very important and fundamental skill that students will need to rely on to be able to apply in their lives. Parental Guidance
Our review sessions are highly interactive and (sometimes) competitive. The learners will have a chance to compete against the instructor or the game (but also work together) each week and earn rewards as they play. Not all students will win. Learners should be able to exhibit good sportsmanship regardless if they win or lose.
In this group the materials will be presented to the learners via an interactive Canva or Google slideshow presentation (shared on the teacher's device, only). We also may utilize Google Docs for the assessments. No external links will be clicked. No additional websites will be visited. No additional logins are necessary for the learners.

Required: - a notebook (for scratch paper and taking notes) - a pack of pencils with erasers - a pencil sharpener Suggested: - access to a printer w/ink (for printing any bonus resources that the instructor MAY provide) - access to a ream of printer paper (for printing any bonus resources that the instructor MAY provide)

My experiences as a home educator and private school teacher have afforded me 10+ years teaching math concepts to students of all ages, especially 1st through 7th graders. Throughout those years I have developed many ways to make math mastery attainable for learners within the different levels. My all-time favorite way is through gaming.
