Class experience
Literacy is the foundation of all learning. It is one of the center, most talked about subjects in early childhood education because early educators and researchers know that a solid language and literacy foundation produces lifelong, well-rounded learners who are prepared for an enriching educational journey and for an enriching life as a whole. Thus, I am passionate about delivering a fun, literacy-focused program that will invite your learner to love reading through interactive and...
At the beginning of each month, I will send out a pacing guide to help parents see and be aware of the academic skills we will focus on that month. This will be especially helpful for homeschooling families who like to keep a record of their child’s learning throughout the school year. But in general, learners will be able to: 1. Recall and retell stories 2. Practice and display developing skills in phonics/phonemic awareness, math, science, social studies and art through hands-on activities 3. Build positive friendships with other learners.
During Class: 1. Whiteboard, marker 2. In-class worksheets/printables (I will provide these later when applicable.) 3. I may ask for your learner to bring real representations of objects we are exploring in our weekly read-aloud to make the learning experience more tangible, hands-on, and relatable for them. (e.g. playdough, wooden sticks, water, ice, clothing, etc.) Outside of Class: 1. Printer and ink (for printing weekly materials when provided by me)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
