In this popular animal science class, students will learn about the Lions of Africa. We will explore and compare the habitat, characteristics, diet, family group and conservation status of lions. I will be using a presentation created using photo slides and asking interactive questions that will also integrate elements of geography, math and vocabulary into an animal science lesson designed to motivate natural curiosity. I will also include two downloadable templates that will help students...
1. Students will learn facts about the physical characteristics of the Lions of Africa, such as size, diet, habitat and characteristics. 2. Students will learn how scientists use these characteristics to compare and classify a species like the Lions of Africa. 3. Students will learn why conservation of lions is so important and what is being done to prevent the extinction of this species in Africa. 4. Students will learn new vocabulary words related to the study of the lion in its African habitat.
