US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Each class will start with student introductions and an informal Q&A about the animal of the day or group of animals (ocean animals, rainforest animals, etc). I will then introduce facts about the animal or group of animals, including diet, habitat, adaptations, and more. There will also be a worksheet about the animal that we will fill in together during class. Students will receive a personalized animal-themed coloring sheet as well. I send these handouts to learners the day of the class. The handouts are NOT required in order to take the class, but help some learners to follow along. This class is very interactive! Students will have several opportunities to ask questions, comment on what we learn, and tell us what they know. I do not mute students unless there is background noise that is distracting to the class. Students will be required to at least begin class with their cameras on so that I can check attendance and see their faces. If students are more comfortable with having their camera off after introductions, that is fine! Students do not need any prior knowledge about animals in order to attend this club! Students also do not need to be able to read to take this class! The class is very visual with pictures and videos. Hi! My name is Danielle Bozung and I've been an elementary teacher for the past 16 years in Virginia. I have taught 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade. My Outschool classes center around math, reading, animals, science, and planets. I have a Bachelors Degree from James Madison University and a Masters Degree in Teaching from Christopher Newport University. I am currently pursuing my Educational Specialist degree (Ed.S.) in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Virginia.
I love spending time with my family. I have three children: a son and two daughters. In my free time, I love reading, finding new local coffee shops around Virginia, and hiking our beautiful mountains!
My teaching philosophy is that children learn best when they are engaged and having fun!
