Description
Class Experience
This class will begin with an overview of the Scratch, followed by an interactive demo and mini-lesson on sprites, backgrounds, and code blocks. We will then work together as each student creates their own animation and card. They will add artwork and coding, and we will discuss code blocks needed to create conversations and simple movement as we code. Students will help each other debug their code, and will reflect on the code blocks they find most useful. We will also discuss other topics...
Students will learn about the Scratch interface, sprites (characters and objects), backgrounds, and basic code blocks, as well as logical thinking and debugging techniques. Students will use their creativity to make a fun animation and a card.
This class will not have homework, but students may want to add to their projects after the class is over.
Students will need a Scratch account for this class. If you don't already have a Scratch account, please create one prior to the start of this class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
