Curriculum/Topics: Pre-skills and School Readiness Skills will be taught to help early learners to: - Use a keyboard -Type words. -They will learn how to type numbers - They will lean how to use different controls on the keyboard such as; signs punctuation caps lock shift backspace delete space Importance: Keyboarding is important because children get a chance to build fine motor skills while typing. They will learn about the hand placement when typing. Children will also learn how to read. More advanced children will learn how to use word perfect to type papers and much more. Structure of class: -Learners will be watching educational videos. -Learners will be doing Near Pod lessons (educational website). -Learners will sometimes do Anton lessons (educational website) for review. -Learners can use tablet or computer. -Learners can eat, drink and use the restroom -Learners can dance to music if it's played. My teaching style: -Auditory; children will hear sounds, music, talk about what they learned. -Visual: children will look at tutorial videos Teacher-Student Interaction: 1.I will start off the class with greetings. 2. I will ask students if they know about the topic that I'll teach. 3. We will begin doing Nearpod (educational website) lesson activities. 4. I will guide them throughout the lesson. 5. We will discuss our thoughts on the lesson learned. 6. We will discuss next class session. 7. I will end the class with a goodbye greeting. Healthy Keyboarding Habits (K-2)
In this Nearpod Digital Citizenship and Literacy lesson, students identify healthy habits when using a computer. Students learn to model and apply good posture when using a computer.
