Class Experience
The class will be divided into the following topics each week: Lesson 1- *Russian Alphabet*- Students will also learn the Russian Alphabet. Students will learn which letters are "almost the same", Russian letters that look like english letters but sound different, letters that look unusual but have familiar sounds, and pronunciation symbols. Lesson 2- *Greetings & Russian Handwriting*- Students will learn the different ways to say hello, goodbye, and greetings in Russian. Students will...
Students will learn the fundamentals of the Russian language including the Alphabet, Hnadwriting, Numbers, Verbs/Pronouns, Nouns, Conjugations (past, present), Genitive cases, Plurals, and some common most used Russian Words. Students will come out of this course with the knowledge of the basics of this beautiful, yet complicated language.
My native language is Russian, in which I am 100% fluent. I have taught this course previously to students who had different levels of expertise in the language. I have constructed a great curriculum guide composed of a 13-week lesson which will help any child learn the basics and fundamentals of Russian.
Different homework will be provided each week. For instance, following the handwriting lesson students will be asked to prepare a short hand written phrase in Russian for the next class. Students will complete homework which will result in a short presentation for the following week based on the lesson learned.
Hand-outs will be provided each lesson.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
