Let’s Learn About Dolphins is a small - medium-sized class intended for children 7-11 years old who are interested in learning more about dolphins, marine animals, and the ocean. This class is 50 minutes long, and in course, we will discover the incredible world of aquatic animals and the dolphin! Together we will discuss the necessary information about dolphins and their habitat. Students will learn the dolphin’s life cycle, the places they call home, behavior characteristics, and environmental factors that impact their diverse ecosystem. Students will also learn what it means to be a steward of our planet by learning what it takes to protect these animals and their habitats. Students will learn three things that they can do to help the environment. This class is in a comfortable classroom setting. I will use different media and technology to bring the materials to life. This class is very interactive, and students are encouraged to speak and discuss topics throughout the course. Class time will involve lecture time, slides, video clips, and ongoing discussion throughout the class. The Final 10 mins of class I will lead students in drawing a dolphin and habitat of their own, with step-by-step instructions. Students are encouraged to bring any sea animal doll or plushy to the class for sharing. No prior knowledge is needed!
Learning Goals
Students will acquire or further develop their knowledge of dolphins and their environment and conservation efforts to save the dolphins and reduce global pollution. Learning outcome: Students will learn three ways in which they can help the environment to protect dolphins. Students will learn to draw a dolphin, art and drawing build self-esteem.
