All learners welcome as we will code an animated card or create a game in Scratch. Perfect for all holidays such as Mother's Day, Father’s Day, birthdays or simply a way to say I'm thinking of you! In this particular game, we are focusing on the Jewish holiday Passover (Pesach) and searching for the hidden Afikomen. Learners will be guided on how to select their own sprites to animate and use graphic effects. Some projects may include sound effects and music. This particular class does not instruct how to create games, but I offer other classes. Learners completely new to Scratch may benefit from having an adult nearby to assist as needed. Don't worry if you are new to coding - we'll go step-by-step, and by the end, you'll have your own game to share with friends and family. A computer desktop or laptop is preferred for coding. Tablets and iPads don't always work properly with some of the games on Scratch. The device used for coding must have a keyboard. It is preferred that learners screen share from the device that they are accessing Scratch using Outschool Zoom screen share. Screen sharing this way allows me to see their code as they are working. I can annotate directly on their screen. Students need to create a free, online Scratch account before meeting. A parent will need to confirm this account for the learner to be able to save their project. Https://scratch.mit.edu

Parental Guidance
Learners need to have a Scratch account already created prior to our session. This particular class is one time, but I have many ongoing classes available. If you do not see a day or time available, please message me. Parental assistance may be needed for learners new to Scratch, computer use, or benefiting from assistance navigating a website. It is preferred that learners screen share Scratch using Outschool's Zoom. This allows me opportunity to see their code as they are working. I can annotate directly on their screen. If possible, please navigate this step prior to our session so your child with be familiar with how to screen share. I will send the game template prior to our class so please check the classroom for updates.
