Class will begin with some warm-up stretches to get the dancers ready for movement. The class will be taught in a group setting and throughout the class the instructor will individually help and watch learners do the movements they are learning to assist and reinforce what is being taught. Each week various Irish Dance moves will be taught and those moves will be incorporated into steps. For Example: Week 1, Topic - Sideways Reel Step - The various types of sideways moves will be taught Week 2, Topic - Points - The various step combinations using points will be taught Week 3, Topic - Jumps - The various types of jumps will be taught Week 4, Topic - Skips - The various combinations the Irish Dance Skip will be taught and incorporated into combinations. The class teaches proper technique for Traditional Irish Dances. In addition, dancers will learn coordination, poise, movement and rhythm with emphasis on the basic style and characteristics which make Irish Dance a unique art form. Shaping the talents and values of children and young adults and teaching the importance of self-achievement provide Peggy with the rewards she seeks as an Irish Dance Instructor. Parental Guidance
Learners should wear comfortable clothing suitable for easy movement and flexible shoes which provide traction and also allow them to stand on their toes. No jeans please. Dancers are encouraged to have a water bottle on hand to stay hydrated during class. A large space is not necessary for class however the area should be free from any items on the floor or furniture which may be an obstacle. Class will begin with some warm up stretches to get the dancers ready for movement.
Supply List
No special supplies needed. Just comfortable clothing suitable for easy movement.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been teaching Irish Dance to children ages 3 and older for 42 years. I am certified through our teacher organization in Ireland and am a member of the Irish Dance Teachers Association of Mid-America and the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America.
