This course will introduce elementary Spanish to young learners. With eye-catching images and interactive activities, this course will keep little ones entertained and engaged all while learning a new language. Classes will consist of conversations, games, and songs. The class time will be divided as follows: -Icebreaker/greetings (5 mins) -Teacher lecture/slides (15 mins) -Guided practice (20 mins) No prior knowledge of Spanish is necessary. Instructions will be given in English. Class I: In the first class, students will learn how to introduce themselves in Spanish: "Hello, my name is..." and greetings "Hello!", "Good morning!", "Goodbye". Class II: In the second class, students will learn to count to 10 in Spanish and to say how old they are "Mi nombre es Val, tengo 8 años". Class III: In the third class, students will learn the colors in Spanish and to say what their favorite color is. Class IV: In the fourth class, students will put together an introductory pitch in Spanish using all they have learned in the previous classes.

In my previous life, I was a consultant/researcher for various feminist NGOs, the United Nations, and the World Bank.

I am an advocate for positive reinforcement and enjoyable learning environments. To keep learners engaged and motivated, I create and promote student-centered atmospheres in which pupils are encouraged to have fun and make mistakes.
I'm an old soul. When I'm not working or reading, I'm baking, watching The Great British Baking Show, or singing off-tune to Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons.
I currently reside in NYC with my husband and our sock-puppet Lex.
