Introduction to Spanish for Beginners 2 Times per Week - Intensive Program

This program of 4 weeks 2 times per week is a great opportunity for beginners to increase their vocabulary, common phrases in Spanish, practice with a native speaker, develop more skills and gain more confidence with the language.

Bienvenidos to my "Spanish class for intermediate students". This is a class for students that have a certain knowledge in Spanish and this class will help them to develop their language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The class will focus on building more complex sentences and expressions, expanding vocabulary, and gaining a deeper understanding of Spanish grammar and verb conjugations. 

The class will be divided into sessions, each focusing on specific topics. We will have a mix of interactive activities, exercises, and discussions to ensure an engaging learning experience. Homework assignments and quizzes will help reinforce the concepts taught during the class. 

My teaching style is learner-centered, focusing on individual needs and preferences. I believe in creating a supportive and encouraging atmosphere where students feel comfortable expressing themselves in Spanish. I'll provide constructive feedback and personalized guidance to help each learner progress at their own pace.

Every week we are going to practice a different topic, here is the list:

- Greetings, how to present themselves, name, age.
- Number from 1- 1000. Count, write big numbers.
- The date - Days of the week, months of the year and how to say the date. Answer questions about when is Halloween? When is Christmas?
- How to say the time.
- Weather - Describe the weather
- Seasons - Describe the seasons
- Food - vocabulary - Use the verb "comer"
- How to order in a restaurant. Phrases that can be helpful in a restaurant
- Clothes - Use verbs to talk what are you wearing?
- Pronouns and Verb "ser"
- Describe people taking into account physical appearance
- The professions - Describe people
-Verb "Tener"
- The family and and verb "Tener"
- Pets
- Verb "Estar"

- The house - Places inside the house
- The house -Things and furniture inside of the house

For every topic I am going to provide the whole information and activities that can help the students to participate and improve their Spanish Skills.

Important information:

- This is a group class where I am going to always ask to my students to show their cameras for safety. Ensure that your camera and microphone are functioning correctly so that you can actively participate in discussions and group activities.
- If there is a student that do not want to participate you can send me a private message notifying the teacher.
- Punctuality: Join the virtual sessions on time to avoid disrupting the class and to make the most of the learning time.
-Technical Issue Resolution: If you encounter technical problems during the class, communicate it to the facilitator or the technical support team to find a quick solution.
-Appropriate Use of Chat: Use the chat for questions related to the class topic and avoid engaging in conversations that might distract the group.
Learning Goals
Vocabulary Building: Introduce and reinforce essential vocabulary related to everyday objects, numbers, colors, family, food, and basic conversation topics.

Grammar Foundations: Provide an understanding of fundamental grammar concepts, such as verb conjugation, noun and adjective agreement, sentence structure, and basic tenses.

Basic Conversational Skills: Develop the ability to engage in simple conversations, exchange greetings, introduce oneself, ask and answer basic questions, and participate in basic social interactions.

Listening Comprehension: Improve listening skills through exposure to spoken Spanish in various contexts, such as dialogues, short and simple conversations.

Reading Comprehension: Develop basic reading skills to understand simple texts, signs, and short passages related to everyday life.

Writing Skills: Practice basic writing skills, including forming sentences, writing short paragraphs, and filling out simple forms or completing basic exercises.

Lesson 1:
Greetings
 The first lesson will be about greetings, how to say: "My name is..." "I am from... " "Nice to meet you", and how to answer a common question "How are you" This lesson is very important because the student will find basic phrases to start a conversation in Spanish.

Important words
 This second lesson the students will practice Greetings and common words that we use every day like: "Thank you, please, I am sorry, you are welcome"... and more. The teacher will invite the students to practice and play games.

Lesson 3:
Colors
 In this week the students will learn the colors and new phrases in Spanish, how to say I like, I do not like, and, My favorite color is... This is a nice lesson because students will be invited to speak and share with their friends.

Lesson 4:
Numbers
 In this class students will practice the numbers from 0 to 50 in Spanish. It will be a great opportunity to practice how to say each one. The teacher will offer games and activities to memorize the numbers.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
I will prepare specific lessons for my student with appropriate vocabulary and visual media, I will share my screen with the student and we can use the whiteboard to practice together. This class doesn't require any safety warnings.
Supply List
The students can have a notebook, pencil and eraser for the class. They can use it to take notes and if they want to write something important.
