What will be taught? - Students will learn foundational coding skills using ScratchJr, including creating animations, programming characters, and storytelling. - They will explore concepts like sequencing, loops, messaging, and transitions. What topics will you cover? - Motion blocks to make characters move and navigate. - Speed control to adjust character actions like racing or running. - Fading effects and scene transitions (e.g., sunset to night sky). - Loops for repetitive actions (e.g., dribbling or dancing). - Messaging blocks for character interactions and sequencing. - Creative storytelling through animated scenes and multiple characters. How is your class structured? -Introduction (5-10 minutes): Overview of the day’s concept with examples. -Guided Activity (20-30 minutes): Step-by-step coding project with live demos. -Creative Exploration (10-15 minutes): Students customize their projects. -Wrap-Up (5 minutes): Share projects, Q&A, and discuss improvements. Car Chase Adventure
Choose a fun city background and a character, then use motion blocks to make a car race across the screen. Learn how to make characters move and navigate on their own.

Race to the Finish
Learn to use the speed block to speed up or slow down a racing car or runner. Students will control the pace of their characters and explore different speeds.

Starry Night
In this activity, students will learn how to make a character disappear as the sun sets, and create a night sky full of stars. Explore fading effects and simple animation principles.

Moonlit Journey
