6 hrs 40 mins in-class hoursHomework
1 hour per week. Some weeks will have a homework assignment that should take about 10-15 minutes. Usually it is a worksheet but sometimes it can be a Flipgrid Video.Assessment
Students will be given a final assessment where their knowledge will be tested to see if they are ready to move on to the next course.Class Experience
Students will gain the fundamental knowledge of the Spanish-Speaking culture by participating in real-world spoken language. The class will meet once a week for 50 minutes. The first half of the session is an introduction to the lesson where students are required to listen and take notes. The second half, we will put what we've learned into practice. This helps students review and practice speaking the language. The course will be set up as followed: Week 1: Introductions/Greetings Week 2: Numbers Week 3: Colors Week 4: Telling Time Week 5: Emotions/Feelings Week 6: Days of the Week/Months of the Year Week 7: Weather Week 8: Descriptions/Adjectives I will be teaching lessons using PowerPoint/Slides, games using Kahoot, video clips, and discussions. I expect students to interact with one another so there will be lots of pair-work involved to practice communicating in Spanish. I understand we all do not come from the same background so we will also be working a lot as a whole group. Usually, for the first part of this Introductory Course, I HIGHLY recommend taking my pre-requisite class " Learning the Spanish Alphabet" but it is not a requirement. Most importantly I just want eager learners that are ready to learn a new language and its culture! Can't wait to see you here :)
Learning Goals
-Basic Spanish vocabulary for everyday communication, including greetings, introductions, numbers, and common phrases.
-Pronunciation practice to develop clear and accurate spoken Spanish.
