Cursive writing is becoming a lost art. Learning to write in cursive is shown to improve brain development in the areas of thinking, language and working memory. Cursive handwriting stimulates both your right and left hemispheres, which is something printing and typing does not do. For each class we will review different letters, including both upper and lower case. Along with the alphabet, we will practice the size, shape, curve, spacing, and placement of letters in words, sentences, and projects. The start of every class, the students will play a fun dice game where they will have 5 random letters or words that they will practice. I will provide feedback and time for corrections. From there we will practice 3 words that go along with the joke or riddle of the day. I will provide tips and strategies to help master spacing, shape, curving, and placement. We will copy a silly and fun riddle or joke, that the children can share with family and friends. The beginning of each week I will provide the students with directions to a fun and creative project that goes along with the lesson of that day. Week One: 🎈Name Project Week Two: 🎈Funny Picture Short Story Week Three: 🎈Make our own madlib (monsters) Week Four: 🎈Poetry: Couplet Week Five: 🎈Thank You Cards I like to keep this class fun and engaging. A place where the student feel free to ask questions, and enjoy interacting with each other. I want them to leave at the end excited that they just accomplished learning a new skill. 😀

Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I have been an educator for over 10 years, and a homeschool mom. I taught many students how to write in cursive and seen how much it has helped them with their memory and thinking skills. I have used these methods with my daughter when she was in second grade, and her writing and reading skills have expanded.
