How to Draw a Dog Using 2D Shapes

In this fun art class, we will begin it by reading the story, “Do Your Ears Hang Low?”  Then we will review 2D shapes oval, triangle, half-circle, and rectangle.  Students will use that knowledge to create a cute basset hound dog drawing. As we work on the picture we will talk about how it is important to fill your paper with your artwork and not just a small area. We will discuss how we can hold a crayon to make different shades of colors. Students will have fun creating their own backgrounds for their dogs. In my classes, I love to encourage students to be creative. As we are coloring our pictures. I love allowing the students to share stories about their pets. Hope to see you in the classroom soon!
