In this flexible course, students will gain the confidence necessary to have a simple conversation with a native or fluent Spanish speaker by engaging with the teacher and other students through song and guided practice.

1 hour per week. Each week, students will be encouraged to record themselves singing the song and/or asking and answering questions in Spanish.Class Experience
Students will learn some simple songs and phrases in Spanish through videos that they can view at any time during the course of the class, preferably one a week. THERE WILL BE NO LIVE CLASSES. Each video will begin with the teacher singing a song that teaches essential vocabulary (such as greetings, colors, numbers, family members, etc.). The teacher will then share some words and phrases that will help the students learn the song. The students will have the opportunity to practice the vocabulary and pronunciation during the video, as well as after. They will be encouraged to record themselves singing the song for the class. To interact with other students, they will also be encouraged to ask and answers questions in Spanish that are posed in each video. The other students will then have the opportunity to respond to their classmates questions and answers. Class Schedule: Week 1: Greetings and Introductions -Songs: Hola, Yo soy ____; Buenos días Week 2: Family Members and More Introductions -Song: Familia Dedo Week 3: Numbers -Songs: La Canción de los números Week 4: Colors -Song: Los Colores Week 5: Manners -Song: Manners Song Week 6: Other essential Beginning Phrases -Song: Que es esto? *This class is in both Spanish and English.
