This 6 week course is designed for middle school students to explore the remarkable contributions of women during World War II. Through discussion, interactive activities, and multimedia resources, students will gain a deeper understanding of the significant roles women played in the war effort, both on the front lines and on the home front. Knowledge of Historical Context: Develop an understanding of the historical context of World War 2, including the causes, major events, and key actors involved, to comprehend the significance of women's roles during this period. Recognition of Women's Contributions: Recognize and appreciate the diverse contributions made by women during World War 2, including their involvement in the military, intelligence and espionage, industrial production, civilian support roles, and resistance movements. Critical Evaluation of Primary Sources: Develop skills in critically evaluating primary sources, such as diaries, letters, photographs, and propaganda materials, to gain insights into the experiences and perspectives of women during World War II.
