In this one-time, beginners, upbeat dance class, I will introduce basic movements of hip-hop. We will warm-up, stretch and learn a fun routine with our dolls! During class we also chat about our dolls and at the end of class we will make a craft for our doll!
Class experience
During this class we start off with a warm-up and stretch our bodies for about 15 minutes along with our doll. We will then learn choreography to an upbeat dance routine! (25 -30 minutes) During class we will have a couple breaks that include about 5 minutes to chat about our dolls and we will make a craft for our doll at the end of class for about 5-10 minutes! Your child will learn basic movements of hip hop and movement. This song is upbeat and fun. The goal of this class is to get the student excited about dance, move around and exercise, learn something new and learn a full routine by the end of the class!
I have been teaching for 19 years in several styles of dance for all ages. I have danced professionally including Walt Disney World, The Orlando Magic (NBA) Dance Team, Carnival Cruise Lines and more. I have directed many dance teams and have judged at competitions and professional dance and cheer team auditions. My passion is to help others be their best! I am passionate, caring and fun and look forward to meeting your child!
Bring your American Girl Doll or any doll to class to dance with! During class we will make a microphone for you and your doll. You will need a toilet paper roll, foil, tape, and 1 post-it-note or small piece of paper for your dolls microphone. Or you can choose to make a rocket out of a toilet paper roll. All you need is toilet paper roll, foil, tape scissors and paper for the flames and any other decorations you might want to use!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Make sure your child is taking class in a safe space in a clear area where they can extend their arms out side to side and front and back. Also, make sure your child has water nearby and wears comfortable clothing. (Dance at your own risk.)
