Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
Beginner - Advanced Level
In this private class, we will learn how to use a DSLR camera to its full potential! We will explore shutter speed, aperture, ISO, composition, and more- and how it all works together to create amazing images. The 1:1 nature of this class gives us the flexibility to customize the topics towards the learner's photographic interests.

Each week we will learn about a different part of the "exposure triangle", and we will be encouraged to find these settings in their own camera and practice with these settings. This class is aimed at beginner photographers, no prior knowledge or experience necessary. I do recommend exploring your camera with your learner prior to our first class, to find out how these settings are controlled in their particular camera model.

Week One: Camera Basics & Shutter Speed
Week Two: Aperture and ISO
Week Three: Manual Mode
Week Four: Recap, and Final Photo Presentation
*As this is a private class, this schedule is flexible and can be customized to fit your learners learning speed*

Each class will start with an engaging and informative presentation that includes lots of sample photos taken by the teacher.
We will then brainstorm photo ideas together, and students will have the chance to ask any questions they may have.
There will be a printout available for students summarizing all discussed techniques to help them during their photoshoots

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! I'm Sabrina.

I live in Ontario, Canada with my furry and scaly companions. Specifically, I share my home with 4 cats and a wide variety of geckos!

Photography and animals are my two greatest passions in life. I have been taking photos for as long as I can remember, and over time it evolved into my career. I went to Sheridan College, specializing in photography. I now operate my own business where I specialize in photographing families, pets, engagements, newborns, and more!
I am excited to teach classes all about how to take a great photo, both technically and creatively.

Secondary to my photography business, I have a passion for animals of all kinds. I run a small reptile rescue out of my home, focusing mainly on leopard geckos. I take in a variety of different reptiles in various states of health. I am dedicated to learning as much as possible about these creatures and sharing my knowledge with others so they can properly care for and appreciate them. Hopefully, this will reduce the need for rescues like mine in the future.

As an educator, I believe that the classroom should be a place where students can have fun and engage in interactive experiences. My classes are designed to spark curiosity and inspire excitement in students. I am eager to help each student discover their passions and talents

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
Can’t wait to meet you in class!
