Class experience
In this one-time class, students will learn all about guinea pigs' sounds, body and language, and what they mean. Students will learn how to identify these sounds and what they can do to help guinea pigs during certain sounds or body language. This class is to help students who own a guinea pig or are interested in adopting a guinea pig understand the noises and body language of a guinea pig. Students will learn sounds such as the guinea pig “wheek” and “purr” as well as “nose touching.”...
Students will be able to recognize different guinea pig sounds and body language as well as how to help their guinea pig.
I have over 30 years of experience with animals to include 6 years of experience with exotic animals.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
As animals can be unpredictable, it is recommended if a student brings a guinea pig to class they have parental monitoring close by in the event the guinea pig gets frightened. Parents, please note the words "poop" and "pee" will be used in this class as it is an important part of identifying the overall health of the guinea pig such as identifying illnesses. There may be images shown in class and descriptions on how to properly sex the guinea pig (finding out if it's a girl or boy). The teacher will always be sensitive and avoid being overly detailed in descriptions.
