Children enjoy activities including drama, storytelling, music and movement, art and craft, and writing practice, all of which motivate competency in the four components of language learning (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) in a fun and enjoyable way. Speaking Games, conversation activities, rhymes, poems, drama and role-play help children develop their confidence in speaking, discussing and expressing themselves in Mandarin. Listening Reading and dramatizing stories and idioms together, help expand children’s imaginations, build vocabulary and increase their understanding of language. Some stories are further explored through writing activities. Reading Children learn to recognize Chinese characters, moving on to develop their ability to answer questions for reading comprehension tests. Writing Children learn to write Chinese characters, mastering the sequence of strokes. They then move on to constructing sentences, creating stories, and developing their ability to express themselves in written form. Children in Kindergarten Two also receive worksheets for practicing their skills at home. The learner has Mandarin and Pinyin basic skills.

Teacher expertise and credentials
“Ni Hao 你好!” My name is Rebecca Fang (You and your child can call me Fang laoshi which means “Teacher Fang”). I am very excited and looking forward to meeting all of you.
I was born and raised in Shanghai, China. I obtained two diplomas in Early Childhood Education from Preschool Normal College of Shanghai in 1990 and KLC school of Education in Singapore in collaboration with Beijing Normal University of China in 2001. I have over 32 years of experience with extensive training in teaching young children in China, Singapore, and the USA. It’s my pleasure to share the language history and culture of China with you and your child. I have been living and working in the USA since 2008. My hobbies are reading, cooking, photographing, and traveling.
I strive to teach my students basic literacy skills in Chinese and go beyond oral language to pursue the true ability of students to read and write Chinese. Your child is special. I want them to LOVE learning and to come away with positive memories for a lifetime.
