This fast track course will get you playing all different styles on the ukulele.
Class experience
No prior musical experience or education required – we start from scratch. I will help you tune your instrument and teach you the parts of your ukulele, the names of the strings, and some simple exercises, and songs on handouts you can print and keep. After the introduction, each week I will start the class by asking if there were any questions or problems with the material from the week before. At the end of the course students will be able to identify the parts of the ukulele, name it strings, use an electronic tuner, and be able to play a simple tunes, and basic chords.
I am a current California credentialed substitute teacher, who has been teaching guitar ukulele and mandolin for the last 20 years. I have worked as a lead guitarist in a touring country rock band, and have completed a degree in ethnomusicology at UCLA.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
