Class Experience

In this ongoing class, students will learn the various techniques used in dot painting. I lead by example - students will follow along as I teach the dot painting process. This will be demonstrated in a step by step instructional manner. We will be learning about paint texture, depth and contrast and how to use the tools effectively. Part of the class will be more instructional, the other part will be hands-on learning in which the student can work on his or her project with my guidance, using the technique taught that week. I also encourage students to show their work to the class if they choose. It is a great way to get feedback. There is no prerequisite for these classes. Your learner can join at any time!
Here is a breakdown of how each week will be taught:

All weeks: Students will learn the basics of dot painting: what it is, how to use the tools to make smaller and bigger dots and some examples of what can be expected as final products. Each participant will have the opportunity to paint, using the dot techniques.

Any week: Students will learn about the different types of paint and the benefits of each. We will discuss what paints the students have already and the best way to use that particular type of paint. Students will work on an independant project while we discuss paint quality and the array of colors available in the various types of paint.

Any week: Students will learn about layering and the importance of layering to create depth. Students will have the opportunity to work on an independant project while demonstrating their knowledge of layering.

When they want thiis information.: Students will learn how to use a compass to help with perfect circles when dot painting. Each participant will have the opportunity to use his or her compass to do a circle to demonstrate their knowledge. Participants will dot paint their circle.
