French for Beginners - Level 1

Students will learn and have weekly practice with the following information and concepts in French: days of the week, months of the year, how to read and write the date, numbers, colors, shapes, counting, number order, letter names and sounds and rhyming. Teacher will teach from slides to ensure that students can clearly see the information. Teacher will use their hands, facial expressions, voice intonation as well as body movements to both engage and help students to learn and understand what is being taught. Teacher will use chanting, rhyming, singing and as well as call and response while teaching. Students will constantly interact with the teacher and their classmates throughout the lesson. This class does not require any prior experience or knowledge from the learners.

Week 2:
Numbers 1- 50
Colors
Shapes ~ basic geometric shapes:  square, circle, triangle, rectangle.

Week 3:
Counting
Number order

Week 4:
Letter names and sounds (Alphabet and vowels)
Rhyming (songs)

*This class is designed and most appropriate for NON-NATIVE speakers of French but all students are welcome to join.
