Description
Class Experience
Students will learn and establish a daily routine for talking about the calendar in French. This will include basic math and literacy concepts in the French language.
Mrs. Hernandez - I have a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Northeastern Illinois University, a Master’s in Education from University of Phoenix, and Doctorate (in progress) from Aurora University. I speak French fluently. I teach K-12, elementary, middle school, and high school levels.
No homework will be assigned for this class. Students and families are encouraged to welcome and include the French language by making connections in their daily lives as often as possible while watching, listening to and participating in the world around them.
Learner progress will be assessed daily during each lesson as the teacher sees and hears that the student has become independent in reciting the information learned during the learning routine. Students will be able to ask and answer questions in the target language. Students will have individual turns to demonstrate progress and understanding. Parents can also assess their own child's progress as they become more independent during their participation in class as well as how they are using learned information outside of class.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
