Creating a WordPress Website for Beginners: A Step-by-Step Guide This 6 week class will cover the basics of building a website using WordPress, a popular content management system (CMS) that is easy to use and great for both businesses and hobbies. The class will be broken down into several topics to help you understand the process and guide you through the creation of your own website. By the end of this class, you'll have a fully functional WordPress website that you can use for your business or hobby. With a solid understanding of how WordPress works, you'll be able to update, manage and expand your website over time. No required experience or previous knowledge is needed by the learners.
Learning Goals
To gain an understanding of the capabilities and functions of WordPress and its role as a content management system.
To learn how to choose a domain name and purchase web hosting, as well as setting up a new WordPress site and familiarizing with the WordPress dashboard.

Installing and Setting Up WordPress
Get your WordPress site up and running and become familiar with the dashboard.

Explore themes, create essential pages and posts, and enhance your site with widgets and plugins.
Lesson 4:
Content Creation
Learn to enrich your site with engaging text, images, and videos while optimizing for SEO.

Bachelor's Degree in Science from Brighton University UK
Johnathan holds a Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science. He has an A level Photography certificate which he specialized in digital photography to sell on websites he would build. He has 100's of published photos from the last 20 years on 100's on websites he has created.
He has worked with children of all ages in the fields of sports, circus skills and business as a trainer and mentor. He has extensive experience of mentoring and counselling which he applies during this class.
Johnathan has been a martial arts expert since the age of 9. From the age of 16 he worked with various circus teams where he learned many skills. He has travelled the world performing for audiences including Formula 1 events, royalty and international superstars. He is a fully insured fire performer with many skills including bubbleology, staff spinning, juggling and stilt walking, to name but a few.
As a serial entrepreneur who founded four successful companies before the age of 35, my drive to succeed in life began in my teens when I realised the power of positive motivation. I was lucky enough to have a good mentor who guided me through the intricacies of financial management which helped me to understand the value of money, how to identify and seize opportunities to make money and how to manage an investment portfolio.
Johnathan also teaches conversational English to children and adults across the world.
