Have you ever wondered what your cat is trying to say? Cats don’t use words like we do, but they have their own special way of talking with their tails, ears, eyes, and mouths! In this class, kids will learn to interpret feline behavior through physical cues and expressions. Through a combination of visual examples and real-life scenarios, we will explore the subtle and not-so-subtle ways cats communicate their emotions, needs, and boundaries. You’ll learn to recognize signals of comfort, stress, fear, aggression, and affection. We’ll cover key aspects of feline communication, including: Tail Movements: What a flick, swish, or puffed-up tail reveals about a cat’s mood. Ear Positions: How forward, sideways, or flattened ears indicate different emotions. Eye Expressions: The meaning behind slow blinks, dilated pupils, and direct stares. Body Posture: Signs of relaxation, defensiveness, and readiness to pounce. Vocalizations: How these contribute to a cat’s overall message. By the end of this class, you’ll be able to “speak cat” more fluently, strengthening your bond with your feline companion and improving interactions with other cats you may encounter. Whether you’re a new cat owner or an experienced pet lover this class will enhance your ability to understand and respond to feline body language effectively.
