US Grade 2 - 3
This English course is the perfect way to start putting to use your child's good English skills. This key stage 2/ 2nd & 3rd grade English course uses characters and settings from our fictitious Minecraft town, Blocksville. By following the everyday activities of our lovable characters, your kid will look forward to improving their reading, building on their vocabulary, practise their spelling and improving their grammar. On this course we cover reading skills and strategies, as well as the national curriculum KS2 syllabus of grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. Each class includes preparation and homework materials. We recommend that you take lesson 1 - our introductory class (at an introductory price!) This course's topic living and non living things. We explore what makes something alive and learn to compare and contrast. These classes are split between the virtual classroom and a shared screen experience in Minecraft Education Edition. The teacher will guide the student through a journey in our town, with tasks, reading, short writing practise and more. This method really solidifies the learning, making it more enjoyable for your child. Your child will: * Learn a variety of grammar * Practise spelling each week. * Expand their vocabulary * Develop reading comprehension strategies such as compare and contrast. * Read a short story each week. These stories are written by ourselves. * Apply comprehension skills about the stories and relate them to their life. * Apply the learning in a Minecraft world. This course is ongoing, weekly and the materials will be cycled every 21 weeks for the following topics: Week of 28th Feb - Is it living: The apple pie Week of 7th March- The harvest Week of 14th March- The bike ride Week of 21st of March- The bird cycle Week of 28th March- The bee life cycle Week of 4th April - A dog's life Week of 11th of April- The holiday Week of 18th April- The fish tank Week of 25th April - The pond And weekly there after.
