In this 4-week class, students brand new to the English language or the U.S will interact (almost) completely in English with their teacher and peers to learn necessary vocabulary and conversational skills to help them in everyday life.

Beginner Level
This class was designed intentionally by an English Language Learning teacher who specializes in working with students new to the U.S. with zero experience with the English language. Each class was created with well-known Quality Teaching of English Learners (QTEL) strategies and research supporting every activity. This class is taught in English.
By the end of this 4 week class, students will be able to introduce and describe themselves in English as well as use basic English vocabulary to communicate.
I am currently the English Language Learning Strategist at a middle school responsible for supporting all English Language Learners on our campus as well as training teachers on effective methods of ELL instruction. Additionally, I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade newcomers who are new to the U.S. and have no experience with English.
This class is specifically designed to build oral skills in all students. Various neuro-divergent students with varying abilities to read and write in any language have found success with this material. All students are encouraged to join!
It is assumed that none of the students enrolling in the class speak any English.
