Week 1
Lesson 1
Dinosaurs
We will discuss dinosaurs.  During class, students will learn the names of some of the most common dinosaurs.  They will tell whether they like dinosaurs or not.  We will discuss the size of dinosaurs.  We will talk about whether we would want to have a dinosaur pet.  We will make a paper dinosaur.  We will read the book, Danny and the Dinosaur.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Birds
We will discuss birds.  We will talk about how birds build nests.  The students will tell if they have seen a real bird's nest before.  We will talk about the kinds/colors of birds the students have seen before.  We will make a bird's nest craft.  We will read the book, The Best Nest.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Vehicles
We will discuss Vehicles.  We will learn the names of some common vehicles.  The students will list some vehicles they see in the city.  We will make a car wash craft.  We will read the book, Pete the Cat, Go Pete Go.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Oceans
We will discuss Oceans.  We will look at a globe and notice that most of the earth is covered in water.  We will talk about animals that live in the ocean.  We will make a whale blow art project.  We will read the book, I'm the Biggest Think in the Ocean.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Farm Animals
We will discuss Farm Animals.  We will learn the names of some farm animals.  The students will talk about the farm animals that they have seen.  We will make a spotted cow picture.  We will read the book, The Cow Said Neigh.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Foods
We will discuss foods.  The students will talk about their favorite foods.  They will talk about foods that are yummy and yucky.  We will make a chocolate chip cookie craft.  We will read the book, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.
 Week 7
Lesson 7
Musical Instruments
We will discuss musical instruments.  We will talk about the kinds of instruments in an orchestra.  We will discuss instruments the students play.  We will make a morocca.
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Bugs
We will discuss bugs/insects.  We will talk about the kinds of bugs students have seen.  We will make a grasshopper head band.  We will read the book, Bugs, Bugs, Bugs.
