Class Experience
Writing is an art and just like all other expressions of art, it should remain true to our imaginations. Focus too much on being correct, using proper sentence structures and whatnot, and you lose track of the thought that you wanted to write down. In this class, we shall explore writing techniques that recreate our thoughts on the paper, rather than reducing our imagination to ashes. There are no set rules of creative writing as every writer has their own unique style of grammar, choice of...
Students will learn how to write down their initial ideas in their raw form. They will learn how to draw inspiration from seemingly mundane events in our everyday lives. They will learn the techniques of storytelling. They will learn how narratives are formed in stories. They will learn techniques that can best translate their stories to their readers.
I write for brands all around the world. I help them create stories that go along with their unique products and services and make these items special and unique to both the brand and the customer. During my experience in the practical business of story-writing, I observe how it is the same creativity and originality that appeal to the reader instead of how something is written in flawless language. For over 3 years, I have applied this knowledge to prepare Middle School kids on the techniques of story-telling that creates an impression on the readers' minds. In my workshops, I have taught them how to embrace their creativity and communicate their thoughts effectively to others. In these sessions, my focus is not on the grammar, or sentence structures, but on the techniques that trigger the desired image in their readers so my young writers can truly tell the tales from the unique worlds of their minds.
