Easy Breezy Writing: Translate Your Imagination Into Words

Writing is an art and just like all other expressions of art, it should remain true to our imaginations. Focus too much on being correct, using proper sentence structures and whatnot, and you lose track of the thought that you wanted to write down. 

In this class, we shall explore writing techniques that recreate our thoughts on the paper, rather than reducing our imagination to ashes. There are no set rules of creative writing as every writer has their own unique style of grammar, choice of words, and structure. What matters is the impact on the reader. We want the person reading our stories to develop the same image in their minds as have imagined. We shall find out exactly how to do that in this 3-day journey. Each day, we shall explore ideas and techniques of writing, and use them in wording out our thoughts.  

Day 1: Catching Ideas: Day 1 is all about writing down an idea in its raw form. Disconnected words, situations that do not make sense, strange creatures, stranger people, and the most unexplainable objects from the universe of our minds. In this session, we shall make ourselves comfortable in writing down our thoughts as they appear to us. Inspiration for these writeups will be drawn from daily thoughts, dreams, and/or experiences.
Day 2: Magic and science of storytelling: Day 2 will explore how image is created through words. We shall learn the techniques of storytelling to transfer the stories in our heads to the paper. We'll work on our raw ideas from day-1 and convert them into enchanting stories. We shall explore how we can use our imagination and thoughts to create a story that can create a sense of the world that is unique to you.
Day 3: Readers' minds: Learn how you can communicate your thoughts to the readers and create the same sense of the world in their minds that inspired you in the first place. We shall work on our stories from day-2 and assess how to polish them so that they best translate our thoughts to our readers. 

My teaching style is friendly and inclusive. This class will offer a comforting environment for young writers where they can unleash the full force of their creativity. They will learn how to celebrate their originality and will be empowered to enjoy putting their thoughts to the paper.
