Class experience
Students will learn teamwork, collaborative storytelling, improvisation and practice basic math and problem-solving skills through the lens of an exciting and engaging game of Dungeons and Dragons by taking on the roles of pirates sailing the seas of the crossroads of a dynamic fantasy world. Some basic knowledge of Dungeons and Dragons is helpful, but not required to participate in this class. Certain optional rules will be used during play and explained to the class as they occur. I have a degree in English and Textual Studies from Syracuse University, a master's degree in Elementary Education, and have played in and run D&D games for 30+ years.
Homework Offered
Homework will consist of work on character backgrounds, leveling up, and time thinking about in-game puzzles during off periods. Only the former two will be directly assigned, but doing the latter will leave more time for progressing the story of the game during class time.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
