Using guided drawing, we will draw an optical illusion (commonly called the worm tunnel illusion) in easy to follow steps, while also learning about color theory and shading techniques. Taught by a certified art teacher.

Class experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Students will learn about Op Art history.
Students will use line to draw a worm tunnel illusion.
Students will learn about color theory in order to make informed color choices in their worm tunnel illusions.
Students will learn how to use shading techniques to make their worm tunnel illusions more effective.
I have 22 years of experience teaching art to students at the middle school and elementary levels, including but not limited to, art history, drawing, painting, printmaking, mural-making, and ceramics.

Assessments Offered
Informal assessment at the mid-point of the lesson in the form of a "check-in" to monitor student comprehension and progress. Informal assessment at the end of the lesson whereby students can receive feedback on their work if they choose to be spotlighted.
Grades Offered
The teaching method of using guided step by step instruction supports students with unique learning needs.
Basic drawing supplies: pencil, paper, coloring supplies of the the students' choice. Coloring pencils may be the better choice for this lesson since we will be introducing shading into the illusion.
