Freddy Carnes is an Austin-based Teaching Artist who has worked for over 15 years for Creative Action. He has received awards for his teaching, acting, writing, and directing. He has taught Shakespeare and Greek Mythology to children and has been a musician and songwriter for many years. His children's musicals have won many awards. Freddy is also an accomplished puppeteer!
The students are encouraged to bring their own stuffed animals or toys to interact with the Pink Castle puppets. They will also need paper and markers or crayons to draw scenes from the stories.
Help your learner participate by setting up their space with areas to draw, listen, and move.
All of the songs and stories are original creations written by Teaching Artist Freddy Carnes.* These songs include: "Fly Like A Bird," "Use Your Brain," "Old Paint," and "Starbuckaroo." The stories are based around a fairytale-like Kingdom called "The Pink Castle Kingdom," and involve the use of generic puppets that Mr. Freddy has been using for several years.

Mr. Freddy knows that the stories and characters must be secular. We are aware that we teach children of all faiths and beliefs. At Creative Action, our goal is to unite all children with the universal understanding of love, peace, diversity, uniqueness, acceptance, community, generosity, empathy, and kindness. These are themes that Mr. Freddy has used for many years in his classes and enjoys teaching youth about!
